Summerhill Primary Academy
Summerhill Primary Academy is proudly recognised as an Inclusive Attendance school. Our unwavering commitment to attendance centres around child-centric actions, evidence-informed practices, and a shared understanding of everyone's roles and collective responsibilities to promote exceptional attendance.
At Summerhill, we value and celebrate good attendance:
· Class attendance shared regularly with pupils, staff and parents
· Weekly celebration assemblies highlight excellent attendance
· School-wide attendance data is displayed and shared
· Termly rewards for improved attendance as well as 100% attendance, both as a class and for individuals
· Annual recognition for full-year attendance
· Head Teacher awards for improvement and commitment
We also recognise and understand that some of our pupils and families will need additional support. Support given is individualised, but may include;
· Reward charts for home and school
· A trusted adult to meet and greet
· Pastoral support, such as Forest School, Creative Therapy and friendship building activities.
· Routine support and advice, in a non-judgemental and support manner
· Referrals to external agencies, such as the School Nurse team, CAMHS or Inclusion Support
· Additional support plans and meetings for families where attendance is a concern
· Emotionally Based School Avoidance support through the above, but also Attendance Solutions Panel discussions and further support as required.
Working Together for Success
Please help us give your child the best possible education by ensuring they are:
· In school every day
· On time, every day
If you have any questions or concerns about attendance or punctuality, please speak to a member of staff. We are here to help and support every family.
Support with Routines

Evenings that set the stage for school success!
A calm, consistent evening routine can make mornings smoother and help children arrive at school on time and ready to learn.
Here are a few simple tips to support a great start to the school day:
Pack bags, prep lunches, and lay out clothes the night before
Wind down with quiet time (less screen time = better sleep!)
Stick to a regular bedtime that allows plenty of rest
End the day with a story or a chat about tomorrow
Feel free to download any of the attached schedules if you feel they would help. If routines are challenging at the moment, please speak to a member of the family support team who will be able to support in a variety of ways, for example creating a routine chart for your child to use at home. Routines, especially sleep, are often one of the trickiest parts of being a parent!
Thank you for all you do to support your child’s learning journey.
